President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday that Iran will pay a “very big rate” after pro-Tehran forces assaulted the U.S. embassy in Baghdad.
” The U.S. Embassy in Iraq is, & has actually been for hours, SAFE! A number of our excellent Warfighters, together with the most lethal military devices on the planet, was instantly rushed to the website. Thank you to the President & Prime Minister of Iraq for their fast action upon demand,” the president tweeted.

The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad stayed locked down Tuesday after numerous Iraqi protesters who tried to storm the compound stopped working to gain entry, U.S. authorities said.
An embassy spokesman informed CNN the embassy personnel were protected following an attack by protesters who were angered by a series of fatal American airstrikes carried out Sunday versus an Iranian-backed Iraqi militia group in Iraq and Syria.
Protesters entered the heavily fortified “Green Zone” near the compound after obviously being given gain access to by Iraqi security forces and gathered at the walls of the embassy itself to knock the U.S. airstrikes against the Kata’ib Hezbollah militia.
U.S. authorities blamed the militia for the death of a U.S. specialist in Kirkuk, Iraq, late recently.
Hours after the attack, President Trump accused Iran of orchestrating the event, vowing to “strongly responded.”

In addition, we anticipate Iraq to use its forces to safeguard the Embassy, and so alerted!” the president composed on Twitter.
