ATLANTA– The Olympic cauldron used in the 1996 Games in Atlanta was scheduled to be openly lit for the first time in more than twenty years on Saturday.
Georgia State University revealed the cauldron will be lit right before twelve noon on Feb.29, news outlets reported.The flame will remain lit up until about 3: 30 p.m.as an Olympic marathon trial course weaves through a few of Atlanta’s the majority of historical neighborhoods.
Saturday’s race was expected to identify who will represent the United States in the upcoming Summertime Olympics in Tokyo.
